Last time, we began to talk about where our interests come from, and this lead us to a conversation about the relative importance of our ECONOMIC BACKGROUND and the SETTING of our lives.
We are going to push this conversation a bit further today:
Question: What is something that someone you know finds to be entertaining that you do not find to be entertaining? What is it? And why, specifically, do you think you do not find it to be fun?
Can you articulate your answer in terms of play, income, class?
(From this point on this semester, we will be using our basic course terms as often as possible to frame our responses.)
Group Discussion:
(Suggested: 5-7 Minutes)
Share your writing and come up with a statement that summarizes your statements.
Make sure you use the concepts of PLAY, INCOME, and CLASS to frame your comments.
Presentations: (Suggested: 5-7 Minutes)
Class Discussion: (Suggested: 5 minutes)
Setting: The geographic and social situation within which action occurs.
Homework:
