Eh 200 Spring 2011 MWF: Week Eleven Day One

Filed under: Uncategorized — assistantprofessorcrowley @ 1:33 pm

Let’s return to the prompt:

Your job is to draft an argument on how and why specific events described in two of these stories either share or present different assessments of how social standing impacts understandings of work.

Continuing Issues:

Issue 1) Thesis statements: Must be specific to your consideration of these two stories. Cannot be bland or obvious statements about work or our frames. It must appear in the thesis paragraph.

Issue 2) Very frequently, our warrants – our explanations for how our evidence supported our claims – were underdeveloped. You should be shooting for at least three sentences in your warrants. _It always needs to be clear by the end of the paragraph how your claim, evidence, and warrant support your thesis.

Issue 3) Sentence Structure.

Papers that did not meet the basic requirements were not read from start to finish. You must be meeting basic requirements to make progress in this course.
