Week 2: January 24 — January 28
- Day 1: Considering “The Untold Lie” as it relates to “play;” Homework: Argumentative Précis on “The Untold Lie”
- Day 2: Considering “income” and its relationship with “class” in “Untold.” Turn in Argumentative Précis. Annotate “Untold” for details relating to income, class, and play.
- Day 3: Considering “income” and “class” as they relate to “play” in “Untold.”
Week 3: January 31 — February 4
- Day 1: Review Précis. Considering “class.”
- Day 2: Considering “Setting.” Relate “Setting” to “The Untold Lie,” “Gift of the Magi” Argumentative Précis on “Gift of the Magi”
- Day 3: Post Snowday changes to curriculum
Week 4: February 7 — February 11
- Day 1: Comments on the Precis, Working with “The Gift of the Magi.”
- Day 2: Turn in the Precis: Considering “Plot”
- Day 3: Consider how play in these stories relates to our lives in the context of the major course terms. Read“Mrs. Beazley’s Deeds.”

- Day 2: Mrs. Beazley’s Deeds discussion. Cultural References.
- Day 3: Conclude World of Play.
